OHC is raising funds for faculty research
The uniquely human capacities to reason critically, to reflect ethically on the conditions of our lives, and to imaginatively reconceive the circumstances and conditions of the world around us form the underpinnings of humanistic research. Spanning diverse disciplines, experiences, forms of human expression, and methods of inquiry, humanities scholars help us understand the past, navigate the present, and create the future.
OHC faculty research fellowships provide faculty with a term free of teaching, giving them precious time to focus on their research and writing. Their research uncovers and analyzes new findings, produces new knowledge, and develops interpretations that help society think about and solve pressing challenges. Faculty share this information in the classroom, through publication, scholarly talks and conferences, and in the media.
This year the OHC aims to raise $40,000 to establish an endowment for faculty research fellowships. Your gift will help us reach this goal. Questions? Contact Jena Turner, jenap@uoregon.edu. Give now.
