UO Today
UO Today, the Oregon Humanities Center’s half-hour television interview program, provides a glimpse into the heart of the University of Oregon. Each episode offers viewers a conversation with UO faculty and administrators as well as visiting scholars, authors, and artists whose groundbreaking work is shaping our world. Past guests have included the Rev. John Shelby Spong, Dave Frohnmayer, Samantha Power, Bill McKibben, HenryJenkins, and Ben Saunders.
The weekly program is produced in cooperation with Knight Library Media Services. Humanities Center Director Barbara Altmann serves as the program’s host.

Craig Hickman, professor of Digital Art, discusses his development as an artist and how he became involved in digital art. He also talks about his Enigma Gadget series (examples of physical computing) as well as his continuing work as a photographer. |

Robert Darnton, Director of the University Library at Harvard and the 2009-10 Kritikos Professor in the Humanities, discusses Google's book digitization project and how it affects authors, publishers, and libraries. Darnton gave a lecture entitled, "Digitize, Democratize: Google, Libraries, and the Future of Books" at the UO on November 12, 2010. |
