Ellen Herman

“The Wulf Professorship in the Humanities has provided the kind of extra support that allows me to offer students new and innovative learning experiences they would certainly not have had otherwise.... [A visiting scholar recently spent] a whole week on campus working with my students and talking about her research, something that would certainly never have been possible without OHC support.”

Ellen Herman, History
2009-10 Faculty Teaching Fellow (Wulf Professor)

Promote humanities teaching

The OHC enriches the student experience by supporting the creation of invigorating, new humanities courses, including interdisciplinary teaching collaborations among faculty.

During the past twenty years, OHC Teaching Fellows have developed and taught more than 100 exciting new courses. The supplemental funds offered by the Wulf and Coleman-Guitteau Professorships allow faculty to enhance their courses with guest speakers, student field trips, and additional instructional materials.
