Schnitzer Cinema: “A Kaddish for Bernie Madoff”

The OHC and the School of Law are cosponsoring a Schnitzer Cinema presentation of “A Kaddish for Bernie Madoff” a one-woman chamber-rock opera about the intersection of faith and finance. Alicia Jo Rabins, writer, composer-performer, and Torah scholar, presents the story of the Bernie Madoff scandal and views the system which allowed him to function through the lens of ancient Jewish and Buddhist texts on financial ethics, ecology, and cycles. The performance takes place on March 8, 2017 at 7 p.m. in the EMU Redwood Room.

A kaddish is a Jewish prayer sequence, regularly recited in the synagogue service, offering thanksgiving and praise to God, and a prayer for universal peace.
